To Our Potential Sponsor
I wish to thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read this letter!
First off, my name is John Grant, and I would like to introduce myself as the founder of the Spruce Grove Ball Hockey League.
Since moving out west to Edmonton in 2006, I have become a very passionate member of the local ball hockey community. Prior to my move to Edmonton I was enthusiastically involved with the sport in my home province of Nova Scotia.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to run numerous teams and tournaments in both Alberta and Nova Scotia, including some for very amazing charities such as the Cancer Foundation. My involvement in this event, as well as numerous others, has afforded me the opportunity to meet and work alongside many amazing people within the community of ball hockey. I have coached countless Men’s and Women’s teams and was recently voted in as the Provincial Tournament Director for the Wild Rose Ball Hockey Association, the governing body for ball hockey in the province of Alberta. To say I am passionate about the sport would be a massive understatement as I feel driven to introduce and grow the game within the province, country and even worldwide.
I moved to Spruce Grove roughly 8 years ago and noticed, not only that the Spruce Grove/Stony Plain and surrounding area is constantly growing, but also, that sadly, there are no ball hockey leagues within this region! It is time for that to change.
There are many great benefits to the sport of ball hockey. One of the most appealing features is that it is a very inexpensive alternative to ice hockey. Ball hockey is also a great combination of fun, exercise and competition that offers the opportunity to meet many amazing people and friends along the way. Despite the fact it is one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, many people are still unaware that there are opportunities to play not only locally, but on a provincial, national and even world stage!
My vision for the SGBHL is to introduce both kids and adults to one of the best sports on earth by providing an opportunity for them to get out for some exercise, while enjoying their time in a fun, safe and competitive league. I want to provide an opportunity for those who wish to go further in the sport and guide them towards city championships, provincial championships, national championships and maybe even someday representing Canada at the World Championships!
For those who aren’t looking for quite that level of competition, but instead are seeking something more along the lines of just getting out and playing for the fun of it with their significant other, our Coed division will more than fill the need!
But at the heart of it, in the end, everything comes back to knowing that in order to grow this sport, we MUST focus on our youth. Along with providing divisions for players as young as 5 years old, we are hoping to offer the potential for financial assistance to those in need. Sport, as it did for me and countless others, can provide an incredible opportunity for our youth to be part of something that has the potential for so many different positive outcomes. We will do our best to make sure any child who wishes to play is provided that opportunity by reaching out to, and working with, companies that provide assistance financially to those in need.
Companies like yours.
If you choose to support us through sponsorship, the money received will be used towards offering assistance to those children in need through the purchasing of the necessary equipment required to play. We will also use those funds to secure jerseys, shorts, trophies, medals, prizes for player of the week, and many other perks for the players, which will allow them to feel a part of something truly special.
Typical sponsorship packages would be in various amounts such as $500, $1000 or $1500 which we will then gladly provide you with a receipt.
In return for your sponsorship you will be entitled to some, or all, of the following incentives:
Advertising opportunities on all of our social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, Tiktok)
Your company logo placed on league apparel such as signs, posters, jerseys, shorts and anything else including tournament advertisements
A division trophy named after your company
As the league grows we will look at getting season seats for the Oilers, Elks, Oil Kings and other sporting events which we will then in turn offer to our sponsors
If you and/or your business would be interested in sponsoring our league we would love to hear from you and we look forward to many years of growing this amazing game together for our community. If you have any questions or comments please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
John Grant
