About the SGBHL

The Spruce Grove Ball Hockey League was created due to the lack of ball hockey not only in Spruce Grove, but also Stony Plain and surrounding areas. As one of the fastest-growing sports in Alberta, ball hockey offers an inexpensive, fun, competitive, and overall incredible form of exercise that allows its participants to meet many new people along the way.

Our goal at the SGBHL is to introduce the game of ball hockey to Spruce Grove/Stony Plain region through our league play and tournaments, as well as practices, with a focus on really highlighting the basics of the game.

Many people are unaware that the sport of ball hockey is played, not just all over Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada...but is very popular in many other countries around the world! Growing the sport of ball hockey is a huge passion and mission for the SGBHL, and in order to do this properly, we need to focus heavily on the minors program!

We will be offering different divisions of play including minors as young as 5-years old, all the way up to adult divisions for Men, Women, Coed, and Masters (40+).  With many of these divisions there is the potential to eventually play in Alberta Championships, National Championships and even World Championships!

We look forward to hearing from you, meeting you, and working with you all as we strive to make this league amazing!
